H.C. DeBoard III is a decorated veteran earning the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal. He is also a member recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation. He has a BA and MA from Marshall University in Communication Studies and completed his Ph.D. in Adult Learning Methodologies from Capella University.
After 13 years of total government service, DeBoard entered the private business world. He assisted in the launch of Giant 5 Funds, an upstart mutual fund company with global aspirations. His official title was Chief Information Officer (CIO), where he worked as a Technology Officer for the mutual funds. He, along with 5 others on the team, were featured in Colorado Biz Magazine January 1, 2007.
In 2009, DeBoard decided to strike out on his own as a serious Entrepreneur launching his first major entertainment and technology company, Liquid Spins, gaining major contracts with Big Box Giants…Target, Best Buy and Walmart. Liquid Spins quickly grew to one of the largest music distribution companies in the early 2000’s. He worked directly with major record labels such as Universal Music Group, Capitol Records, Curb Records, Big Machine, Sony, and Warner Music Group. Next he set up an office on Historic Music Row in Nashville, TN. On December 2012, Liquid Spins was acquired by a public company.
Following the sale of Liquid Spins, DeBoard founded The X Music Group in January 2012. He started by hiring The John Stewart as the audio engineer, who was made famous for remastering The Grey Album. Continuing to grow XMG, DeBoard signed The World Famous Tony Williams, who is most noted for singing on multiple albums for Kanye West and Jayzee. Continuing the momentum, he signed Mickey Factz and Coles Whalen all to the XMG record label. He also signed a local artist named Miguel Dakota, who ended up being a finalist on America’s Got Talent in 2014.
Shortly thereafter, he founded Spherady, Inc., a technology company that focused on celebrities and fan communication via live streaming video portals. He has since utilized his connections, marketing skills, and business acumen to launch Spherady into a revenue producing private social network and micro-business for professional athletes, actors and other social influencers. In less than one year, the company was soft-launched and producing minimal revenue with notable clients from the NBA, NFL, Hollywood and more. Spherady now continues to grow with clients such as Lou Ferrigno, C.T. Fletcher, Michael Blair and more. In July of 2015, he was invited to speak at the NBA Legends Technology Summit in Las Vegas, NV.
Herman is currently a partner in Box Office Pitch, where he, and a small group of International Industry Experts, have launched an innovative company designed to connect create original content for multiple devices while focusing on entertainment technology and future distribution methods.
